Kusal Mendis is a professional cricketer from Sri Lanka. He was born on February 2, 1995, in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Mendis is a right-handed batsman and occasionally keeps wicket as well. He has represented Sri Lanka in international cricket across all three formats - Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
Mendis made his international debut for Sri Lanka in ODIs in November 2015 against the West Indies. He had a remarkable start to his career, scoring three consecutive centuries in his first four Test matches against Australia in 2016. This achievement earned him recognition as one of the emerging talents in Sri Lankan cricket.
He has been a consistent performer for Sri Lanka in limited-overs cricket, known for his aggressive batting style and ability to score quick runs. Mendis has played crucial innings for his team, helping them to victories on several occasions. In domestic cricket, Mendis represents the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) in first-class cricket. He has also been part of various franchise teams in T20 tournaments, including the Indian Premier League (IPL).
