Ibrahim Zadran is a professional Afghan cricketer who plays for Afghanistan in all three formats of the game. He was born on 12 December 2001 in Khost, Afghanistan. He made his Test match debut for the Afghanistan cricket team in September 2019.
He made his List A debut for the Mis Ainak Region in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament in August 2017. Later that same year, in September, he also made his Twenty20 debut for Mis Ainak Knights in the Shpageeza Cricket League.
In September 2018, Ibrahim was part of Nangarhar's squad in the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League tournament.
In 2021, Ibrahim played for Boyne Hill in Berkshire. He primarily served as an opener and managed to score 479 runs in 15 matches, showcasing his skills and talent in domestic cricket.
Ibrahim Zadran Career
Ibrahim Zadran's international cricket career has been remarkable. He began in December 2017, representing Afghanistan in the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he emerged as the leading run-scorer with 186 runs.
In August 2019, Ibrahim Zadran made his Test debut against Bangladesh. He later played in Afghanistan's squads for various formats, including One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against the West Indies, debuting in November 2019.
In December 2019, he was part of Afghanistan's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, once again emerging as the leading run-scorer.
In June 2022, Zadran achieved his first ODI century, scoring an unbeaten 120 runs against Zimbabwe. He continued to shine in November 2022, scoring his second ODI century (106) against Sri Lanka and winning the player of the match award. In the same series, he broke the record for the highest score by an Afghan player in this format, amassing 162 runs. Zadran finished the series with 278 runs at an impressive average of 92.66, earning the Player of the Series award.
In June 2023, he made a strong impact by scoring 98 runs against Sri Lanka in the first match of the 2023 series, winning the player of the match award. His consistency in Sri Lanka included scores of 106, 10, 162, and 98 in four innings. Zadran has proven himself as a talented and consistent cricketer on the international stage.
