Noor Ahmad is an Afghan cricketer, known for his bowling skills. He was born on 3 January 2005 in Herat, Afghanistan, As a right-handed batsman and a left-arm unorthodox spin bowler, he has made significant contributions to the team. He made his T20I debut on 14 June 2022, for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe. and one-day international debut (ODI) on 30 November 2022, against Sri Lanka. He also made his ODI World Cup debut on 23 October 2023, playing against Pakistan in Chennai.
Noor has been a valuable member of the Afghanistan cricket team and has represented teams like Afghanistan, Afghanistan Under-19s, Dambulla Aura, Galle Gladiators, Gujarat Titans, Kabul Region Karachi Kings, Melbourne Renegades, Quetta Gladiators, Sharjah Warriors, Trinbago Knight Riders, and Welsh Fire.
Noor Ahmad Career
Noor Ahmad made his first-class debut for Kabul Region in April 2019 and his Twenty20 debut for Mis Ainak Knights in October 2019. he was selected for Afghanistan's squad in the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In December 2020, at just 15 years old, he signed with the Melbourne Renegades for the 2020–21 Big Bash League in Australia, making him one of the youngest to play in the league.
Noor furthered his experience by serving as a net bowler for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2021 Indian Premier League and playing for the Karachi Kings in the 2021 Pakistan Super League. His international career began in July 2021 when he was named in Afghanistan's One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against Pakistan.
In December 2021, he represented Afghanistan in the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Noor Ahmad continued his cricket career signed by the Quetta Gladiators for the 2022 Pakistan Super League. His journey reached a new high when he was bought by the Gujarat Titans in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament.
Noor Ahmad made his One Day International (ODI) debut on November 30, 2022, playing against Sri Lanka. he had the opportunity to participate in the ODI World Cup for the first time on October 23, 2023, in a match against Pakistan in Chennai. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that he made his World Cup debut at just 18 years of age, becoming the youngest debutant in the tournament's history.
