WhatsApp will finish its service on particular Android and iPhones in Feb 2020. WhatsApp won’t operate on a few smartphones that operate either on Android or on iOS platforms. The FAQ page of WhatsApp has listed the phones and operating systems on which WhatsApp will no longer work after Feb 2020.
All Android phones that are operating on Android 2.3.7 and iPhones that are running on iOS 7 will not support WhatsApp from 1st February. Furthermore, the world’s most popular messaging app will not be available in Microsoft Store after 1st July 2019.

Despite this, WhatsApp has claimed that this decision of ending support on these phones will not affect many users. Only those users who are still using old Android phones and iPhones will get affected.
Furthermore, WhatsApp will not support the devices that run on iOS8 or lower. But, users can still use WhatsApp on iOS 8 but they will not able to verify the account if they try to reinstall it.
From Feb 1st, 2020 the iOS 8 compatibility will be completely removed.
“We’ll no longer actively develop for these operating systems; some features might stop functioning at any time. If you currently use an older operating system, we recommend upgrading to a newer version.,” WhatsApp said on its support page.
Facebook-owned WhatsApp is a popular messaging platform that has over a billion active users. The platform is especially popular in Pakistan and gets a lot of traffic during big events and festivals.
