Towhid Hridoy is a Bangladeshi cricketer, Who plays for the Bangladesh cricket team as a batsman in limited-overs cricket. He was born on 4 December 2000 in Bogra, Bangladesh. He bats right-handed and bowls Right-arm off-break. he made his Tweenty20 International debut for Bangladesh on 9 March 2023 against England. and he made his one-day International on 18 March 2023 against Ireland.
Towhid Hridoy Career
Towhid Hridoy started his professional cricket career in 2017. He kicked things off with his first-class debut for Rajshahi Division in October 2017. He got a spot in the Bangladesh squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
Towhid Hridoy made his List A debut for Shinepukur Cricket Club in the 2017–18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on 5 February 2018. he joined the Sylhet Sixers in the 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League, making his Twenty20 debut in January 2019.
He was named the vice-captain of the Bangladesh squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. and then he was selected for the Bangladesh Emerging squad for their home series against the Ireland Wolves.
The highlight of his career came in December 2021 when Hridoy achieved his maiden double century in first-class cricket, amassing 217 runs during the 2021–22 Bangladesh Cricket League. He made history in the ODI format by scoring 92 runs on his debut, setting a new record for Bangladeshi players.
Towhid Hridoy played for Fortune Barishal in the 2022 BPL and later for Sylhet Strikers in the following season, where he consistently performed and totaled 403 runs with 5 half-centuries. Taking his talents overseas, he joined the Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League in 2023, making an impressive debut with 54 runs off 39 balls.
He was named in the Bangladesh ODI and T20I squads for the series against England in February 2023. He made his debut in March 2023, once again showcasing his potential. Notably, in his ODI debut against Ireland, he scored an exceptional 92 runs, setting a new record for Bangladeshi players making their ODI debut. during the series against Afghanistan, he played a crucial inning of 47 not out in the first T20 match.
