He attended Peterhouse Boys' School in Mashonaland East Province, where he excelled in cricket and rugby. At a young age, he even captained the Zimbabwe under-13 and under-16 cricket teams and played rugby for the national under-14 side.
He earned a scholarship to Eastbourne College in England. A notable achievement was being named as a reserve in the Zimbabwean squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup when he was just 15 years old.
Tawanda Muyeye, an asylum seeker who came to the UK with his mother, was granted indefinite leave to remain and settle in the country. He aspires to play international cricket for England.
During his time at Eastbourne, he was coached by former professionals Rob Farley, James Tredwell, and Andy Hodd. In his first season, he set records for the school by scoring 1,112 runs and hitting 56 sixes. His impressive batting performances, including two double hundreds, earned him the title of the 2019 Young Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year.
Tawanda Muyeye Career
While attending Eastbourne, Tawanda Muyeye showcased his talent by playing for Sussex's under-17 and second-XI teams. In March 2021, he signed his first professional contract with Kent, qualifying as a domestic player due to his time at Eastbourne.
He made his debut in first-class cricket for Kent in May 2021 during the 2021 County Championship. Later in the same season, he also made his List A debut in the 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup. In 2022, he had his Twenty20 debut in the 2022 T20 Blast.
