Mitchell Starc is a prominent Australian cricketer known for his left-arm fast bowling and left-handed batting. He represents Australia in all three international formats: Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. , He was born on 30 January 1990 in Baulkham Hills, New South Wales, Australia. Starc is recognized as one of the finest limited-overs bowlers and held the highest ODI bowler rating in 2015.
He made his international debut in 2010 and gained worldwide fame as a key member of Australia's 2015 Cricket World Cup-winning team, earning Player of the Tournament honors. Starc is also known for his remarkable pace, having bowled the fastest-ever delivery in Test cricket (over 160.4 km/h) and is the fastest bowler to reach 200 ODI wickets in 102 matches.
He was part of Australia's victorious 2021 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2023 ICC World Test Championship-winning squad. As of December 2022, he ranks as the 7th highest wicket-taker for Australia in Test cricket.
Starc is of Slovene heritage and is the older brother of Australian Olympic high jumper Brandon Starc. In 2015, Starc got engaged to fellow Australian cricketer Alyssa Healy, and they tied the knot on 15 April 2016. They became only the third married couple to both play Test cricket, after two other couples from England and Sri Lanka. They first met when they were 9 years old while playing as wicketkeepers for Northern Districts. In March 2020, Starc flew home early from a cricket match so he could watch Healy play in the final of the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
