Daniel Sams (Daniel Richard Sams) is an Australian international cricketer. who plays for Australia in (T20I) format. He was born on 27 October 1992 in Milperra, New South Wales, Australia. He is known for his all-rounder skills. He bats right-handed and bowls Left-arm fast-medium. He made his Tweenty20 International debut for Australia on 6 December 2020 against India.
Daniel Sams Career
Daniel Sams started playing first-class cricket for Canterbury in October 2017 in New Zealand. Then, in December 2017, he made his debut in Twenty20 cricket, playing for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. He did remarkably well, taking 4 wickets for just 14 runs, setting a record for the best performance by a debutant in the tournament.
Sams played his first List A match for New South Wales in the JLT One-Day Cup in September 2018 and in June 2019, he was selected to play for the Vancouver Knights in the Global T20 Canada tournament.
Daniel Sams was named in a 26-man preliminary squad of players to begin training ahead of a possible tour to England following the COVID-19 pandemic and was later included in the tour party, although he did not play a match. However, his cricket journey took an exciting turn when he was picked by the Delhi Capitals for the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL). The following season, he was traded to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
Sams also made his mark on the international stage in October 2020, he was named in Australia's squad for limited-overs matches against India and made his debut in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) in December 2020. He was called up as an injury cover player for Australia's squad in the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
Daniel Sams got another opportunity to represent Australia in a series of Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against Sri Lanka. Later that month, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians for the 2022 season. Sams joins the Texas Super Kings squad for the inaugural season of Major League Cricket in June 2023.
