Ben Stokes, full name Benjamin Andrew Stokes, is a prominent English cricketer who is the captain of the England Test team and plays for the England team in ODIs & T20Is. Born on June 4, 1991, in Christchurch, New Zealand, he represents Durham in domestic cricket and has participated in various Twenty20 leagues worldwide. Stokes was a vital part of the England squad that achieved victory in the 2019 Cricket World Cup and the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Stokes relocated to England from Christchurch, New Zealand, during his childhood. He made his T20I debut in 2011, his Test debut in 2013, and contributed to England's One Day International (ODI) team from 2011 until his retirement from the format in July 2022. His standout performance in the 2019 Cricket World Cup, where he top-scored in the final and played a crucial role in the tied Super Over, earned him the Man of the Match award.

Stokes has been recognized as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for 2019, 2020, and 2023, and he received the ICC Award for Best Men's Cricketer as well as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award in 2019. He took over as captain of England's Test team in April 2022. Stokes was a key player in England's victory in the 2022 T20 World Cup, once again top-scoring in the final.

A true all-rounder, Stokes is a left-handed middle-order batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. He holds the Test world record for the most runs in an innings at number six, with an impressive 258 against South Africa during England's 2015-16 tour. During the same Test, Stokes and Jonny Bairstow established the world record for the highest sixth-wicket partnership in Tests, with an astounding 399 runs.
