The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has officially declared spring vacations for all public and private schools operating under the Elementary & Secondary Education Department. This decision applies to educational institutions across the province and aims to provide students and teachers with a well-deserved break following a busy academic schedule.
According to the official notification, the spring holidays will commence on April 1 and continue until April 8, 2025. However, following the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, school staff, including principals, head teachers, and clerical employees, will be required to resume duty from April 3 to April 8. Their presence during this period is crucial for the smooth distribution of free textbooks and the facilitation of new student admissions as part of the province-wide school enrollment campaign.
The KP government has instructed all relevant education authorities to strictly adhere to these directives. The notification has been formally forwarded to education officials, deputy commissioners, and the Chief Minister’s office, highlighting the importance of a seamless transition into the new academic session. The government aims to ensure that no administrative delays hinder the timely commencement of educational activities.
This announcement comes shortly after the Punjab School Education Department made a similar decision, extending Eid holidays for students across Punjab. The synchronized approach by different provinces underscores the importance of balancing academic schedules with much-needed breaks for students and teachers. Additionally, these measures ensure that schools remain well-prepared for the upcoming academic term while prioritizing student enrollment and educational reforms.
The move reflects the provincial government’s commitment to improving the education sector, not only by maintaining a structured academic calendar but also by facilitating students with essential learning materials. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this period to complete the necessary admission formalities, ensuring that their children begin the new school year without any obstacles.
By implementing these well-planned holidays and post-Eid administrative schedules, the KP government aims to maintain a balance between academic progress and relaxation, ultimately contributing to a more organized and efficient education system in the province.
