Samina Ahmad is a senior and notable Pakistani film and television actress, producer, and director. She was born on 11 February 1950 in Lahore in the state of Punjab, Pakistan, and at the age of 18, became a part of the Showbiz World. Samina is a veteran television actress with over 50 years of work experience in the Urdu entertainment industry. She has played a variety of comic roles in comedy serials.

Samina Ahmad performed for many of PTV’s major successful series, including Waris (1979), Alif Noon, and Family Front. One of her most recent roles includes Geo TV’s widely-popular four-part comedy series Kis Ki Aayegi Baraat (2009–2012), and Hum TV’s acclaimed comedy-drama series Suno Chanda (2018). For her contributions towards the television industry, she was honored by the Government of Pakistan with the Pride of Performance in 2011.

Samina Ahmad began her career with dramas on Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), but however, she’s known for comedy dramas like Akkar Bakkar, Taal Matol, Alif Noon, and Such Gup. She also acted in the famous comedy-drama Family Front (1997 Comedy Drama TV Series). She has recently acted in another TV comedy named Side Order. Her latest dramas are Do Bol (2019), Shehnai (2021), Safar Tamam Huwa (2021), Chalawa (2020), Ghisi Piti Mohabbat, etc.

Then, Samina worked on many genres yet her comic characters made her a star. Samina played the role of Nani in all of the Barat Series, including ‘Dolly Ki Ayegi Barat’ and ‘Azhar Ki Ayegi Barat.’ In 2018 she was again portrayed as ‘Bi Jan’ in a super hit drama serial ‘Suno Chanda’ starring Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed. In 2013 she played a role in the popular drama serial ‘Mirat-ul-Uroos’ opposite Mehwish Hayat, Aamina Sheikh, and Mikaal Zulfiqar. Her role in the blockbuster drama serial ‘Daastan’ is also worth mentioning.

Samina made her debut on the big screen in the film ‘Naraaz’ in 1985. Later she took a long break from the big screen and again showed up in 2014 in the film ‘Dukhtar’ starring Samiya Mumtaz and Mohib Mirza. The film did well at the box office. Later in 2018, she again appeared in another Lollywood film ‘Load Wedding’ starring Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat.

Samina Ahmad belongs to a non-artistic family. She spent in Lahore all her life there. Currently, Samina is residing in the same city with her family. Samina’s father served as Director Forest while her mother was a housewife. She is the elder among her five siblings. Samina got married to Filmmaker Fareed Ahmad, but unfortunately, both got separation after a few years. Samina has a Daughter and Son from her husband, Fareed. After several years of being a single woman, Samina Ahmed and Manzar Sehbai got married on 4th April 2020 in a private gathering.
