Anil Kapoor is one of the most famous Indian actors and is also known as a producer. He was born on December 24, 1957, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Anil Kapoor is one of the most celebrated actors in the Indian film industry. He has had a prolific career spanning almost four decades with more than 100 plus films to his credit. Anil Kapoor is famous for Pagalpanti (2019), AK vs AK (2020), Thar (2022), Jug Jugg Jeeyo (2022) and Animal (2023). The Actor Anil Kapoor will also be starring in the upcoming film Animal Park (2025).
In 1970, Anil Kapoor began his debut in films playing a young Shashi Kapoor in Tu Payal Mein Geet. The film, however, did not release theatrically. Anil Kapoor started his Bollywood debut with a small role in the romance Hamare Tumhare (1979) before starring in the Telugu film Vamsa Vruksham (1980) and Kannada film Pallavi Anupallavi (1983).

Anil Kapoor first faced the camera at the age of 14 with Tu Payal Mein Geet. He played the role of a young Shashi Kapoor, which never saw the light of day. In 1979, he made his debut with a brief role in Hamare Tumhare. The next year he made his Telugu debut in Bapus directorial Vamsa Vruksham.
He again collaborated with the director for Woh 7 Din (1983), which was his first leading role in Hindi. The same year, he was also seen in Mani Ratnam’s directorial debut Pallavi Anu Pallavi (Kannada). His first breakthrough role was in Yash Chopra Mashaal which earned him his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. The year 1985 saw the release of Yudh where he delivered the iconic line Ek Dum Jhakaas`.
Anil Kapoor is the second child of Nirmal Kapoor and Surinder Kapoor. Anil has three siblings including the famous producer Boney Kapoor, actor Sanjay Kapoor, and Reena Kapoor.
Anil Kapoor got married to Sunita Bhavnani, a costume designer in 1984, he has two daughters and a son. Their elder daughter Sonam Kapoor is an actress and their younger daughter Rhea Kapoor is a film producer and their son Harshvardhan Kapoor is also an actor. Anil Kapoor is referred as ‘AK’ by his children.
