Boney Kapoor is an Indian producer. He was born on November 11, 1953, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. Boney Kapoor started his career in 1980 with Mithun Chakraborty-starrer Hum Paanch.
In a career spanning almost four decades, Kapoor is best remembered for having produced Shekhar Kapur’s sci-fi superhero film Mr. India, which starred Anil Kapoor and Sridevi in the lead.
Following this, he went on to produce a string of critical as well as commercial successes such as Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Judaai, Pukar, No Entry, and Wanted. In 2017, he produced Ravi Udyawars directorial debut Mom, which featured his wife Sridevi in the lead alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sajal Ali.
His 2019 release includes Nerkonda Paarvai. His other releases include It`s My Life (2020), Vakeel Saab (2021), Valimai (2022), Mili (2022) starring daughter Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, Nenjuku Needhi (2022), Veetla Vishesham (2022) and Maidaan (2023). Kapoor was married to Mona Shourie from 1983 to 1996 and the couple has two children, Arjun Kapoor (born in 1985) and Anshula (born in 1990).
Arjun made his acting debut in the 2012 movie Ishaqzaade while Anshula graduated from Barnard College. Kapoor with his wife Sridevi at Esha Deol’s wedding reception in 2011.
Kapoor married Indian actress Sridevi on 2 June 1996. The couple had two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor (born 6 March 1997) and Khushi Kapoor (born 5 November 2000).
On 24 February 2018, Sridevi died in Dubai after drowning in her hotel bathtub. The Kapoor family of Prithviraj Kapoor are also his distant relatives as Prithviraj was Surinder’s cousin.
