The power supply was suspended during the press conference of Kiwi player Glenn Phillips in the Indian city of Hyderabad in the ICC World Cup 2023 in India.
Glenn Phillips’ press conference to talk to the media before the match against the Netherlands was underway when the room went dark.
The ICC also released photos of Glenn, in which he was seen addressing the media with a mobile flashlight after the power outage, which went viral on social media.
After the power supply was suspended, the journalists present in the hall took out their mobile phones and switched on the flashlight, after which the question and answer session continued.
ICC captioned the photos shared on the X account saying, “We didn’t intend to turn off the lights, but we might do it more often in the future.”
It should be noted that in the sixth match of the World Cup 2023 played at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday, New Zealand defeated the Netherlands by 99 runs.
