Indian pacer Umesh Yadav father Tikal Yadav died at the age of 74 in his hometown Khaparkheda on Wednesday. Umesh Yadav father was said to be unwell for the past few months and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Since his condition was not improving in spite of the treatment, he was brought home, where he passed away.
Tilak Yadav, a resident of Pokarbhinda village in the Padrauna district of Uttar Pradesh, used to be a famous wrestler in his youth. Due to his job in Western Coal Fields, he lived with his family in the Valni mine located in Khaparkheda, Nagpur district. Tilak Yadav is survived by three sons: Kamlesh, cricketer Umesh, Ramesh, and a daughter.
His last rites were performed at the Kolar river ghat in Nagpur district. Umesh Yadav has been a regular part of the Test team for 35 years but he has not got many opportunities in recent times. Umesh has so far played 54 Tests, 75 ODIs and seven T20 Internationals for India.
Umesh Yadev has taken 164 wickets at an average of 30.20 in 54 Tests with his career-best performance being six wickets for 88 runs. Apart from this, Umesh has taken 106 wickets in ODIs and nine wickets in T20 Internationals.
Umesh played his last match for India against Bangladesh in December last year. Umesh is currently part of India’s squad for the ongoing four-match BGT series against Australia tour. However, he was not selected for the playing XI for the first two Test matches, which India won.
