Kelvon Anderson, also known as Kevlon Alston Anderson, is a West Indian cricketer. He's a right-handed top-order batsman and was born on September 28, 2000. Anderson plays for the Guyana national cricket team, and he's had the honor of representing the West Indies under-19 cricket team in the past.
In July 2013, Anderson was named as the top cricketer at the 16th Annual Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club Academy. He started playing local cricket in Guyana at a young age, participating in competitions like the West Indies Cricket Board Under-15 and Under-19 Tournament from 2015 to 2017.
In November 2019, he got his chance to represent the West Indies in the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his debut for the West Indies Under-19 team in December 2019, showing his skills against England Under-19s. Anderson's talent shone through during the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
He earned an academy contract from the Guyana Cricket Board, setting the stage for his journey into domestic cricket. Then, in July 2022, he was among the first group of players selected for the CWI Emerging Players Academy, a great opportunity for high-performance training and development.
Kelvon Anderson Career
In October 2022, Kelvon Anderson joined the West Indies Academy squad for the 2022–23 Super50 Cup. He marked his debut in List A cricket for West Indies Academy on October 29, 2022, when they faced the Leeward Islands.
He made a move to Trinidad and Tobago, where he started playing for the Preysal Cricket Club at the club cricket level. His impressive performances didn't go unnoticed, leading to his first call-up to represent Guyana in the third round of the 2022–23 West Indies Championship in March 2023. On March 15, 2023, he played his first-ever first-class match for Guyana against Trinidad and Tobago.
Kelvon Anderson's journey continued in April 2023 when he was selected to play for West Indies Academy in the inaugural 2023 Headley Weekes Tri-Series. And, on April 20, 2023, he achieved a significant milestone by scoring his first century in first-class cricket, a remarkable 153 runs. This outstanding performance helped West Indies Academy secure a victory in the match, winning by seven wickets.
