The Cricket World Cup 2023, Which is scheduled to begin on October 5 at the famous Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, with an opening match featuring England and New Zealand.
According to Zee TV India, there will be no usual opening ceremony for this major tournament.
The Board Control of India (BCCI) had previously planned a grand opening ceremony for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 4, a day before the tournament Starts.
To kick off the 2023 World Cup in India, famous Indian artists like Ranveer Singh, Arijit Singh, Tamannaah Bhatia, Shreya Ghoshal, and Asha Bhosle were expected to perform during the ceremony. There were also rumors that the opening ceremony might include fireworks and a laser show.
The opening ceremony was supposed to start at 6:30 PM PST, right after the Captains’ Day event at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Even though the Captains’ Day event is still happening as planned, it seems like the opening ceremony has been canceled.
During Captains’ Day in Ahmedabad, all ten team captains, including Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam, will be present. Pakistan’s first match in the tournament will be on October 6, where they will play against the Netherlands, who have qualified for the ICC Cricket World Cup for the fifth time.
The 2023 World Cup most awaited match Pakistan vs India will be played on October 14th. Pakistan hasn’t beaten India in any ICC ODI World Cup, but Pakistan remains confident.
Pakistan faces challenges, including poor performance in the Asia Cup, internal issues among senior players, and the injury of fast bowler Naseem Shah. How they handle these issues in the tournament is a point of interest.
