Sarfraz Ahmed warns ‘all teams are scared Pakistani Team

Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has claimed that all the teams in the 2019 International Cricket Council ICC World Cup are wary of the Men in Green because of their unpredictable nature.

Sarfaraz believes no side will take Pakistan lightly after their win against the tournament favourites England.

“Every team is scared of Pakistan after the England match. Momentum is high and the dressing room is confident,” Sarfaraz said.

However, the Pakistan skipper was left disappointed after Pakistan’s match with Sri Lanka at Bristol was abandoned due to rain, without a ball being bowled.

Sarfaraz was desperate to get on the field as he wanted to carry Men in Green’s brilliant form from their previous game against England.

The washout gave Pakistan squad a chance to engage in a lengthy gym session at the County Ground while the crowd dispersed.

The 32-year-old believes an extended break will help them prepare better for their next encounter against defending champions Australia at Taunton on June 12.

“Like other teams in the tournament, Australia are also a tough opponent,” added Sarfaraz. “They also have momentum as they have won their first two matches.”

“We have a few days now to prepare for the match and we will try to prepare at our best to enter the field as well as we can,” he added.

They have, of course, been here before. Two years ago, they looked awful in losing to India in their first game of the Champions Trophy, only to fight back and beat the Indians in an emotional final.
