The Punjab Home Department has issued comprehensive security directives to ensure foolproof arrangements across the province on the occasion of Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA). The government has emphasized the need for heightened security measures to maintain law and order, prevent any untoward incidents, and provide a safe environment for religious gatherings and processions.
According to an official notification, security measures will be significantly reinforced on the 21st of Ramadan, the day marking the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA). To enhance security, additional personnel from law enforcement agencies will be deployed at sensitive locations, including mosques, seminaries, imambargahs, shrines, and venues hosting religious gatherings. The authorities have been directed to ensure the strictest security protocols, particularly for mourning processions, majalis (religious gatherings), and public congregations. Security checks, barricades, and surveillance systems will be put in place to avert any potential threats.
In addition to increased deployment, the Punjab Home Department has mandated stringent enforcement of restrictions on the possession and public display of firearms across the province. Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to take immediate action against any violations of this directive to prevent the misuse of weapons and maintain public safety.
Furthermore, religious scholars and speakers have been explicitly warned against delivering speeches that contain objectionable or inflammatory content targeting any sect. Authorities have been tasked with closely monitoring public addresses to prevent the spread of hate speech, incitement to violence, or any statements that could disturb communal harmony.
To ensure compliance with these regulations, the Punjab government has ordered the strict implementation of the Punjab Sound System Regulation Act of 2015. Under this law, unauthorized use of loudspeakers, amplifiers, and sound systems will not be tolerated, and legal action will be taken against any violations. The authorities have been instructed to remain vigilant and take preemptive measures to curb any misuse of sound systems that could lead to sectarian tensions.
The government has reassured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to uphold peace and security during this important religious occasion. Citizens are urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
