Before the Boxing Day Test started between Australia and India, the fans paid memorable tribute to the late Dean Jones with the help of Deano’s family and friend, Allan Border. The farewell was organized at the MCG that is Deano’s favorite cricket ground. Notably, his personal farewell also took place there in October.

Months before his death, he handed back his CV life membership and requested to remove his name from the states’ annual award for the best men’s one-day player. As of now, his family has requested to renew the membership to keep his services to the cricket world alive forever.

The Australian players painted their lower lip with Zinc that represented one of the Deano’s trademark look. The campaign took place during the pre-match national anthem ceremony.

Professor Deano died at the age of 59. He was known as one of the best cricketers. Working in collaboration with many T20 leagues around the world, he was hired by the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) for the on-tube commentary before his death.
