KARACHI: The process for applying for Saudi visas for Hajj pilgrims in 2025 has officially begun, with the Pakistani government introducing a more streamlined and user-friendly system. To facilitate pilgrims and simplify documentation submission, authorities have launched the Pak Hajj App, a digital platform designed to make the application process smoother and more efficient.
With the Pak Hajj App, applicants can easily upload all essential documents, including a scanned copy of their passport and passport-sized photographs with a white background. The app eliminates the need for excessive paperwork and long queues at offices, ensuring a hassle-free experience for those preparing for the sacred journey.
Pilgrims intending to perform Hajj in 2025 must complete their applications and submit all required documents by March 22 to be considered under the official government scheme. The app also helps applicants navigate through each step of the process, reducing the chances of errors and incomplete applications, which could lead to rejection or delays.
Hajj Package Costs & Payment Schedule Announced
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has officially announced the cost structure for Hajj under the government scheme. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, the long-term Hajj package has been set at Rs 1,075,000, while the short-term Hajj package will cost Rs 1,150,000. These costs cover accommodation, travel, and other necessary expenses for pilgrims.
To facilitate payments, designated banks will collect the third installment of Hajj dues from February 1 to 10, 2025. The government has urged registered applicants to complete their payments within the given timeframe to secure their participation in the pilgrimage.
Furthermore, the ministry confirmed that a limited number of seats remain available for the long-term Hajj package under the government scheme. New applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until January 30. Those who wish to avail themselves of this opportunity are advised to submit their applications at the earliest to ensure their place in the pilgrimage.
By introducing a digital approach and clear payment guidelines, the government aims to make the Hajj application process seamless, efficient, and accessible for all prospective pilgrims.
How Long Does Hajj Last?
The Hajj pilgrimage is performed over five to six days, from the 8th to 12th or 13th of Dhul Hijjah. When the new crescent moon is sighted, Eid al-Adha begins, which lasts for four days.
The pilgrimage is comprised of a series of rites and rituals, some of which must be performed in order. It can be physically demanding, as pilgrims are required to travel between locations throughout, and can walk on average between 5km-15km per day. Performing Hajj is a test of patience and temperament – it is a spiritual, emotional, and physical challenge, it can take some preparation and for many, it is a once in a lifetime event.
However, it offers Muslims the opportunity to refresh their spiritual selves, to cleanse them of their sins and draw closer to Allah (SWT).
