Sunny Singh is an actor and model from India. He was born on 6 October 1985 in New Delhi, India. The actor made his film debut in Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji (2011), followed by a role in Akaash Vani (2013). Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety was his highest-grossing release in 2018, and Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015) was his first commercial success.
Star Plus’ popular running series Kasautii Zindagii Kay introduced Singh to television in 2007, where he played the love interest of Kratika Sengar’s character. The actor later portrayed Karan in the 2009 television series Shakuntala.
Chetna Pande made her film debut with Emraan Hashmi in Madhur Bhandarkar’s comedy Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji in 2011, where Singh appeared in a cameo. He starred alongside Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha in Luv Ranjan’s romantic drama Akaash Vani as an abusive husband, Ravi. The film was a modest success.
The film Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 reunites Singh with Aaryan, Ranjan, Bharucha, and Omkar Kapoor, as well as Ishita Raj Sharma and Sonnalli Seygall. This became his first commercial success with a worldwide gross of 88 crores (11 million dollars). In 2018, he teamed up with the trio for the third time in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
Singh appeared in Akiv Ali’s directing debut, De De Pyaar De, about a 50-year-old businessman falling in love with a 26-year-old girl. The film stars Ajay Devgn opposite Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu. Alongside Kapoor and Jimmy Sheirgill, he also starred in Smeep Kang’s comedy film Jhootha Kahin Ka.
The film Ujda Chaman, based on the theme of baldness, was Singh’s first release as a lead actor. Although his performance was appreciated, the film was only a moderate success at the box office.
Singh’s latest release was Jai Mummy Di, a romantic comedy with Seygall, Supriya Pathak, and Poonam Dhillon. On 17 January 2020, Navjot Gulati’s film was released to poor reviews, written and directed by him. He will play Lakshmana in the upcoming Ramayana film Adipurush, announced in February 2021.
