Sultana Siddiqui aka Sultana Apa is a Pakistani television director, and producer. She was born on 1st Janaury, 1950 in Hyderabad, Pakistan. As a director, Sultana is best known for her The 1st Indus Drama Awards (2005), Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012) and Field Trip (2022). In the year 1974, Sultana debuted her career from PTV as a producer in Karachi. In 2004 she founded Eye Television Network, now known as “Hum Network Limited” under which her own four cable channels are working, including “Hum TV”. Under her direction HUM TV has received Pakistan’s Lux Style Awards four years in a row. She is the only woman in Asia who started or owned a TV channel.
As a director, Sultana Siddiqui remained inactive ten years before her latest drama serial Zindagi Gulzar Hai a critically acclaimed serial that has been praised for “breaking the ice across the borders of Pakistan and India in current times” featuring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed. She has also made many television films and documentaries. Sultana is a marvellous public speaker. She spoke in the Islamic World Forum organised in Doha in 2013. She also addressed in Women Leadership Forum in 2014. This was held in California.
Sultana Siddiqui is the recipient of many awards. She was conferred the “Leadership Award 2014” in 2014. Sultana appeared in the book “100 performing CEOs and Leaders of Pakistan” for her contribution and dedication as a true entrepreneur in Pakistan. She won the Scroll of Honour Award at the 5th GR8! Women Award held in Dubai.
