Shaakuntalam is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language mythological drama film. The film star Feature is Samantha in the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty along with Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. The Movie written and directed by Gunasekhar. It is produced by Neelima Guna under Gunaa Teamworks and distributed by Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Shaakuntalam movie scheduled to be released theatrically on 14th April 2023 alongside dubbed versions in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. Malayalam actor Dev Mohan is playing Shakuntala’s husband and the special Indian King of Puru Dynasty, Dushyanta in his Telugu debut. The movie also marks the acting debut of Telugu megastar Allu Arjun’s little daughter Allu Arha as the Prince Bharata, the son of King Dushyanta and Shakuntala.

Story

Shaakuntalam movie story revolve around love story of King Dushyantha and Shakuntala, daughter of sage Vishwamitra and nymph Menaka. Due to a sage's curse, Dushyant forgets all about Shakuntala, until destiny brings them together again.
