Sameer Vidwans is an well known Indian film director. He was born on 24th September 1980 in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Sameer Vidwans is known for his films Anandi Gopal, Double Seat, Time Please, and Dhurala. He is famous for Double Seat (2015), Mala Kahich Problem Nahi (2017) and Anandi Gopal (2019). The Director Sameer Vidwans will also be starring in the upcoming film Satyaprem Ki Katha (2023). After finishing high school at M.S.S High School in Pune, he attended the University of Pune for college. In 2005, he did his post-graduation in Screenplay Writing, Film/Cinema/ Video Studies from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Sameer Vidwans got married to Irawati Karnik, a writer. Sameer Vidwans started his career by directing theatre dramas. He had a successful start with the commercial play Nava Gadi Nava Rajya in 2010.
Sameer Vidwans directed the film YZ in 2016, which got praised for its story, acting, and direction upon its release. In the same year, Sameer Vidwans directed a television series in the YOLO–You Only Live Once. The year 2019 turned out to be an exceedingly momentous year for Sameer Vidwans. He directed the movie Anandi Gopal, which is based on the life of Anandi Gopal Joshi, India’s first female doctor. The movie touched everyone’s hearts and met with only positive reviews. The film crew won 10 awards, including Best Director for Sameer Vidwans, in the Filmfare Marathi Awards 2020.
