Sagar Ambre is an Indian director and screenwriter. He was born on November 1, 1990, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. He is known for Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), Yodha (2023), and Odyssey of Persistence (2011).
Sagar wrote and directed his first short film, ‘The Odyssey of Persistence (2011).’ since his initial production, he has been a part of several TV shows and movies where he has worked as the Assistant Director and been a part of the Script and Continuity Department. Some of the most acclaimed youth-based TV shows he has worked on are, ‘MTV Fanaah,’ ‘Yeh Hai Aashiqui,’ ‘Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan’ and ‘Ladies Room.’
He has been the writer for many of the episodes of the popular crime serial ‘Saavdhan India.’ Sagar has also been a part of the scripting and screenwriting team for Bollywood movies like ‘Uri (2019)’ and ‘Dhadak (2018).’ His diverse skill set makes him an invaluable part of the movie crew. He has worked at some of the most famous Bollywood studios, among which are, ‘Yash Raj Films,’ ‘BBC Worldwide’, and ‘Freemantle Media.
