Raai Laxmi is an Indian actress and well-known model. She was born on May 5, 1989, in Belgaum, Karnataka, India. Raai majorly appears in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi cinema, Raai Laxmi has starred in movies like Rock N` Roll, Dhaam Dhoom, Evidam Swargamanu, and Mankatha.

Laxmi broke into the Tamil film industry with the movie Karka Kasadara, in 2005. She then appeared in Tamil films like Kundakka Mandakka, Dharmapuri, and Nenjai Thodu, all of which were average earners at the box office.

In 2007, she made her Malayalam movie debut with Rock N` Roll, starring Mohanlal. Although the movie was a commercial failure, Laxmi was appreciated for essaying the role of a female playback singer, convincingly.

Even after doing a series of mainstream films in the South Indian industry, Laxmi had to wait for her real taste of success, which happened in 2008, with movies like Velli Thirai, in which she played herself, and the action thriller Dhaam Dhoom, for which she received her first Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actress-Tamil.

In 2009, she starred in the mega-hit Malayalam movie Evidam Swargamanu, along with Mohanlal. The film got a unanimously positive reception and Laxmi bagged the Asianet Most Popular Actress Award, Jai Hind TV Film Award for Most Popular Actress, and was also nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in Malayalam.

She then starred in successful movies such as Christian Brothers, Kanchana, Mankatha, Casanova, Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam, and Aranmanai.

In 2016, Laxmi entered the Hindi film industry with movies like Akira, alongside Sonakshi Sinha, and Julie 2, co-starring Ravi Kisan. Her 2019 releases include Neeya 2 and Officer Arjun Singh IPS.
