Om Raut is an indian Director and Producer. He was born on December 21, 1981, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Tanhaji, Raut’s film, was named Best Popular Film at the 68th National Film Awards. He received several accolades for Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush in 2015.
Among Raut’s upcoming projects is the Hindu mythological film Adipurush, an adaptation of Ramayana starring Prabhas as Lord Rama. In New York City, Raut worked as a writer and director for MTV Network after completing his education. After moving back to India, he became the creative head of DAR Motion Pictures, before producing City of Gold and Haunted – 3D.
He made his directorial debut with Lokmanya: Ek Yug Purush (2015), the first production of Neena Raut Films, which he co-founded with his mother. Raut’s first Hindi film, Tanhaji, was released in 2020, earning him the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director. His next film is Adipurush, starring Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan.
Raut’s mother Neena is a television producer, and their father Bharatkumar—is a senior journalist, well-known author & successful Rajya Sabha member. Raut’s grandfather J. S. Bandekar (1925–2017) was a documentary filmmaker & editor.
