Parineeti Chopra, one of Bollywood’s leading actresses, has strongly criticized the Indian media for its irresponsible behavior and spreading of fake news that creates unnecessary panic among the public. Taking a bold stance, the actress expressed her frustration over the growing trend of sensationalism and fear-based reporting. She emphasized that instead of informing the audience, many media outlets are actively misleading them with unverified claims and dramatic narratives. Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, Parineeti urged everyone to rely only on official updates and called for responsible journalism during sensitive times.

This backlash comes in the wake of India’s alleged false narratives—from the recent attack at the tourist spot Pahalgam in Indian-occupied Kashmir to unverified claims of targeting Pakistani civilian areas. The Indian media has been accused of misleading both its citizens and the global audience through fabricated reports.
Parineeti is not the only Bollywood celebrity to raise her voice. Earlier, actress Sonakshi Sinha also slammed Indian news channels, calling them a “joke.” In her social media post, she urged people to stop watching news channels altogether, stating, “I’m tired of these dramatic visuals and shouting anchors. What exactly does Indian media want to achieve with all this noise?”

She further added, “Stop creating panic and chaos. Stop watching this nonsense in the name of news.”
More and more voices from within India are now holding the media accountable, urging for a shift towards responsible journalism and truthful reporting.
