Produced by Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, it is the first of two cinematic parts Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel of the same name, the two-part franchise is made with a massive budget of Rs 500 crore. And with the digital rights of Ponniyin Selvan-1 already sold for Rs 125 crore to Amazon Prime Video. Ponniyin Selvan 2 (PS 2) release date theatres on 28th April 2023.
