Dubai is taking an innovative approach to one of its most pressing urban challenges—traffic congestion—by calling upon young minds to come up with groundbreaking solutions. The city has introduced an exciting new program that provides scholarships and financial support to talented individuals eager to address the issue of heavy traffic and inefficient commuting.
As part of this initiative, young innovators have the opportunity to receive scholarships, mentorship, and funding of up to Dh50,000 (approximately Rs3.8 million). This substantial support aims to encourage fresh perspectives and creative strategies that could significantly improve the flow of traffic in Dubai, making daily commuting smoother and more efficient.
The initiative is spearheaded by the Changemakers Academy, a program launched at Expo City Dubai. It specifically targets UAE university graduates between the ages of 20 and 30, inviting them to submit unique and practical solutions to tackle traffic congestion. Successful candidates will not only receive financial aid but will also gain access to an extensive support system to help bring their ideas to life.
Selected participants will benefit from a range of incentives, including a free workspace, visa assistance, business licensing, and mentorship from internationally recognized experts in urban planning, technology, and transportation. These resources are designed to equip young entrepreneurs with the tools they need to develop and implement transformative solutions.
The program, established in collaboration with the Dubai Community Development Authority, reflects the city’s commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability in urban development. By investing in young minds, Dubai aims to shape a smarter, more efficient future for its residents and visitors.
Aspiring participants have until March 31 to submit their applications. Those selected will have the chance to make a lasting impact on the city’s transportation system while gaining invaluable experience in problem-solving and entrepreneurship.
