Youm-e-Takbeer 2025 Is May 28 a Public Holiday in Pakistan-

Pakistan will celebrate Youm-e-Takbeer on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, to remember the historic day when the country officially became a nuclear power. This important day marks a major milestone in Pakistan’s history and is observed with pride and respect by people across the nation.

What is Youm-e-Takbeer?

Youm-e-Takbeer, which means “The Day of Greatness,” is celebrated every year to commemorate May 28, 1998, when Pakistan successfully conducted nuclear tests. These tests were carried out in the Chaghi district of Balochistan. By doing this, Pakistan became the first Muslim country and the seventh country in the world to develop and test nuclear weapons.

These tests were a response to nuclear tests conducted by India earlier that same month. Pakistan’s successful nuclear program showed the world that it could protect its sovereignty and national security. It was a major scientific and military achievement that gave the country a stronger defense position.

A Day of National Pride

Youm-e-Takbeer is considered a symbol of strength and unity for the people of Pakistan. It is a day to celebrate the hard work and dedication of the country’s scientists, engineers, and military leaders who played a key role in making Pakistan a nuclear power.

Every year, special ceremonies, television programs, and political speeches are held to remember this proud moment. Leaders talk about the importance of a strong national defense and honor the efforts of those who contributed to this major success. Newspapers, TV channels, and social media platforms also highlight the story behind Pakistan’s nuclear journey.

May 28 Declared a Public Holiday

The Cabinet Division has officially announced that May 28, 2025, will be a public holiday across Pakistan. This holiday has been added to the list of major national holidays such as Pakistan Day (March 23), Independence Day (August 14), and Eid festivals.

Because of the public holiday, all government offices, schools, colleges, and most private businesses will remain closed for the day. People will have the day off to reflect on the nation’s achievements and take part in different programs organized to honor Youm-e-Takbeer.
