When Will Asia Cup 2025 Schedule Be Released? Expected Date Revealed

Indian media has reported that the official schedule for the Asia Cup 2025 is likely to be announced in the first week of July. Cricket fans across Asia are eagerly waiting for the full fixture list.

According to reports, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has become a top contender to host this high-profile tournament. The UAE has a solid track record of hosting international cricket events and is being considered due to its neutral ground and modern facilities.

At the same time, there are strong chances that the Asia Cup 2025 will be played under a hybrid hosting model, just like the one used in Asia Cup 2023. In that edition, Pakistan was the official host, but because of ongoing political tensions, India refused to travel there. As a solution, India’s matches were held in Sri Lanka, while other games were played in Pakistan.

For the 2025 edition, India is the designated host, but it’s highly unlikely that Pakistan will travel to India due to the strained political relationship between the two nations. Therefore, the tournament might either be held completely in the UAE or follow a hybrid format again to ensure both teams can participate without travel issues.

Reports also suggest that if everything goes as planned, the tournament will likely start in the second week of September, with September 10 being considered as the tentative opening date.

In preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, the Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the T20 format. This decision will help all six participating teams get ready for the global event by practicing the shorter format in a competitive environment.

The six confirmed teams for the Asia Cup 2025 are:

  • India
  • Pakistan
  • Sri Lanka
  • Bangladesh
  • Afghanistan
  • United Arab Emirates (UAE)

To create excitement for the tournament, promotional campaigns have already started. Tournament advertisements are being aired on Indian TV channels and are also going viral on social media platforms, increasing fan engagement across the region.

There were earlier rumors that India might withdraw from the tournament due to political concerns. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially denied these reports, stating clearly that no such decision has been made.

Furthermore, Indian media has confirmed that India and Pakistan will continue to compete against each other in major tournaments like the ICC events and the Asia Cup. As of now, neither country has taken any official step to avoid playing each other in international cricket matches.
