The Vitality Blast, formerly known as the T20 Blast, is a professional Twenty20 cricket tournament featuring English and Welsh first-class counties. It was established by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003, making it the world’s first professional Twenty20 league. As the premier Twenty20 competition in England and Wales, the tournament has undergone several name changes due to commercial sponsorship. From 2003 to 2009, it was called the Twenty20 Cup, followed by Friends Provident t20 and Friends Life t20 from 2010 to 2013. From 2014 to 2017, it was known as the Natwest t20 Blast before becoming the Vitality Blast in 2018, thanks to sponsorship from the insurance company Vitality.
