Pakistan vice-captain and star all-rounder Shadab Khan has given fans a much-needed boost with a positive update on his recovery from a shoulder injury. The 25-year-old was sidelined after surgery and missed key matches, including Pakistan’s preparation for the Asia Cup 2025.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Shadab thanked his fans for their constant support during his rehab.
“Alhamdulillah, the sling is off, on the road to recovery now. Thank you for all your support & prayers,” he wrote.
The post immediately drew thousands of reactions from fans, teammates, and cricket analysts, all wishing him a speedy return.
Background of the Injury
Shadab Khan had been struggling with pain in his right shoulder for months. The issue became worse before Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Dhaka in July.
After consulting medical experts, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided that surgery was the only option. The procedure went smoothly, and Shadab is now working on regaining full strength.
Importance for Pakistan
As Pakistan’s vice-captain, Shadab Khan holds a key role both on and off the field. Earlier this year, he was trusted with the position during the white-ball tour of New Zealand.
His ability to contribute with the ball, bat, and in the field makes him one of the team’s most valuable assets. His return will be critical for Pakistan ahead of major tournaments, including the Asia Cup 2025 and the T20 World Cup 2026.
Tri-Nation T20 Series in UAE
While Shadab focuses on recovery, Pakistan is set to play a tri-nation T20 series against Afghanistan and UAE. The series will be played in the UAE from August 29 to September 7, 2025.
Pakistan will face Afghanistan in the opening match of the tournament. The series was originally planned as a bilateral contest between Pakistan and Afghanistan, but PCB expanded it into a tri-series to give teams better preparation before the Asia Cup.
Asia Cup 2025 – Full Schedule for Pakistan
The ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 will take place in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from September 9 to 28.
The tournament begins with Afghanistan vs. Hong Kong on September 9.
Pakistan’s fixtures are as follows:
- September 12: Pakistan vs. Oman
- September 14: Pakistan vs. India
- September 17: Pakistan vs. UAE
The much-awaited Pakistan vs. India clash on September 14 is expected to be the biggest highlight of the group stage.
Shadab Khan recovery news has lifted the mood among cricket fans. Many believe his presence will boost Pakistan’s balance and depth, especially in high-pressure matches.
With the Asia Cup just weeks away, supporters are hopeful that Shadab will make a strong comeback and continue leading the team with both skill and spirit.
