Pakistan’s cricketers Sahibzada Farhan and Hasan Nawaz have gained attention for their outstanding performances in the recent T20I series against Bangladesh. Even though Pakistan lost the three-match series 2-1, both players made significant progress in the latest ICC T20I player rankings.
Sahibzada Farhan was one of the standout performers during the series. His consistent batting helped him jump an impressive 69 places in the T20I rankings. He now holds the 97th position with 389 rating points. This is a major achievement for Farhan, as he has entered the top 100 T20I batters for the first time in his career.
Middle-order batter Hasan Nawaz also made his mark in the rankings. He climbed 14 spots and is now tied at the 54th position. Interestingly, he shares this rank with South Africa’s powerful batter David Miller. Both players currently have 500 rating points. Hasan’s rise shows his growing importance in the team’s middle order.
Pakistan’s T20I captain, Salman Ali Agha, saw a small rise in his ranking. He moved up two spots and now sits at 91st with 400 points. Similarly, opening batter Saim Ayub also gained two positions, placing him at number 62 in the rankings. These small improvements reflect their steady efforts on the field.
Despite some good news for a few players, Pakistan’s leading batters experienced a decline in their positions. Former captain Babar Azam dropped to 14th place, while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan slipped to 16th. Both players have been long-time pillars of Pakistan’s T20I squad, but recent performances have affected their rankings.
Young batter Mohammad Haris suffered a significant fall in the rankings. He dropped 15 places and is now ranked 65th with 476 points. Fakhar Zaman, another experienced player, lost two spots and is currently at 81st with 422 points. These drops highlight the challenges faced by Pakistan’s batting lineup during the Bangladesh series.
In the global rankings, India’s Abhishek Sharma made a big move by replacing Australia’s Travis Head to become the number one T20I batter. Tilak Varma, also from India, climbed to third place, showing India’s growing dominance in T20I batting.
Unfortunately, no Pakistani bowlers made it into the top 20 of the ICC T20I bowling rankings this time. Fast bowlers Abbas Afridi and Haris Rauf both slipped two places. Abbas is now at 24th and Rauf at 26th. Shaheen Shah Afridi, however, moved up by one spot and now holds the 35th position with 536 rating points.
Spinner Abrar Ahmed dropped two places and is now ranked 51st. Vice-captain and all-rounder Shadab Khan also fell two spots, placing him at 67th in the rankings. These figures show that Pakistan’s bowlers still have room for improvement, especially on the international stage.
New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy continues to hold the top spot in the T20I bowling rankings. England’s Adil Rashid remains at number two, while India’s Varun Chakaravarthy climbed to third, completing the list of the world’s best T20I bowlers.
