The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), which works under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, has shared some exciting job openings for Pakistani teachers who want to work in Qatar. These jobs are for a well-known client looking to hire skilled and experienced teaching staff.

The OEC announced this opportunity on May 27, 2025. The announcement explains what jobs are available, the salaries offered, experience needed, and other benefits.

Job Positions Available

1. English Teacher for Secondary Classes (IGCSE)
This job is for teaching English to students in secondary school, especially those following the IGCSE curriculum. To apply, candidates should have either:

  • A 2-year Bachelor’s degree plus a Master’s degree in English, or
  • A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in English.

Applicants should have between 3 to 5 years of teaching experience at a good school. Experience in schools that follow the British Curriculum is preferred. There are two open positions for this role.

2. Global Citizenship Teacher (Social Studies) for Primary Classes
This role is for teaching social studies to young students in primary school. The educational requirements are similar to the English teacher position: a 2-year Bachelor’s with a Master’s or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree.
Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience teaching in reputable schools, ideally those using the British Curriculum. Applicants must have a degree in one of these subjects: Sociology, Archaeology, Geography, History, or Urban Planning. There is one vacancy available for this position.

3. Kindergarten / Homeroom Teacher
This job is for teachers who want to work with very young children in Kindergarten or as homeroom teachers. The required education is either a 2-year Bachelor’s plus a Master’s or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree.
Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience working in Kindergarten, and having a Montessori Diploma is preferred. Two positions are open for this role.

Salary Packages

  • Primary School Teachers can earn up to 4,700 Qatari Riyals (QAR) per month if they have a Master’s degree. If they have only a Bachelor’s degree, they can earn up to 4,300 QAR.
  • Secondary School Teachers may receive up to 4,900 QAR with a Master’s and up to 4,500 QAR with a Bachelor’s.
  • Kindergarten or Homeroom Teachers can earn up to 4,500 QAR with a Master’s and up to 4,100 QAR with a Bachelor’s degree.

Benefits and Working Conditions

  • Female teachers will be provided with shared accommodation in a villa paid for by the school.
  • Male teachers who are single will receive a monthly housing allowance of 700 QAR.
  • However, accommodation is not provided for families, so family members will need to arrange their own living spaces.
  • The school offers a return airfare ticket to Pakistan every two years.
  • Teachers get paid their salary during summer vacation, according to the school’s rules. The full salary is paid only after they complete two months of summer break.
  • Medical coverage is free and included in the package.
  • After working for one full year, teachers will receive an end-of-service gratuity as a bonus.
  • The school also provides transportation between the villa and the school.
  • A probation period of three months applies to all new hires. This probation may be extended if necessary.
  • It is important to note that all expenses related to traveling to Qatar—like visa processing fees and air travel—must be paid by the candidate.
