A message has been shared on social media saying that all public and private schools in Punjab will be closed from May 22 to August 17, 2025, for summer vacations. Many people believed this notice and started sharing it widely.
But the Punjab government has confirmed that this message is not true. The document looks official and appears to come from the School Education Department. It even includes a fake signature and government-style formatting. However, the authorities have clearly marked the document with a big red stamp that says “FAKE.”
This false notice caused a lot of confusion among students, parents, and school staff. Many people thought the summer holidays would start earlier than expected and last until mid-August. This led to unnecessary panic in schools and homes.
To clear things up, the Punjab government reminded everyone about the official summer vacation dates. Secretary of School Education, Khalid Nazir Wattoo, explained that the real summer holidays for all public and private schools and colleges in the province will start on June 1, 2025, and end on August 9, 2025.
Mr. Wattoo also said that these dates could change a little if the weather becomes too hot. “If the temperature gets extremely high, the summer break may begin a week earlier,” he added. This shows that the government is keeping an eye on the weather to ensure students stay safe and healthy during the summer months.
