Punjab Govt Approves Recruitment of 25,000 School Teacher Interns

The Punjab government has officially approved the hiring of 25,000 School Teacher Interns (STIs) under its internship program. This major announcement was confirmed by the provincial education minister on Tuesday. The decision is part of the government’s efforts to improve the education system by addressing the shortage of teachers in schools across the province.

In his statement, the minister explained that 12,500 teacher interns who were recruited earlier will continue working under the same program. These interns are already serving in different schools and will complete their current term. Along with them, another 12,500 new candidates will soon be recruited. The fresh batch of interns will be hired for a period ranging from seven to nine months, depending on the requirements of the schools and districts where they are posted.

The education department also announced that detailed advertisements for the recruitment process will be published soon. These advertisements will provide complete information about eligibility criteria, the application procedure, and the timeline for hiring. The minister advised interested candidates to start preparing their documents and applications in advance so they can apply on time once the recruitment officially begins.

The minister further assured that the entire hiring process will remain fair, open, and transparent. He emphasized that every district in Punjab will be given a proper quota of interns, ensuring equal opportunities for candidates from all areas. This system will not only provide temporary employment to thousands of educated youth but also strengthen the teaching capacity of schools that are currently facing a shortage of staff.

Overall, this initiative is expected to create a positive impact on both education and employment in the province. On one hand, it will provide valuable teaching experience to young graduates, and on the other, it will help improve the quality of education for students in public schools.
