The Punjab School Education Department has officially allowed public and private schools to organize summer camps across the province. These camps will run from June 16 to July 15, 2025. The goal of these camps is to help students take part in educational activities during their summer break.
According to the official notice, students from all grade levels can join the summer camps. However, going to the camp is not compulsory. Students will only be allowed to attend if their parents give written permission. This ensures that parents are fully aware and agree to their child’s participation.
The summer camps will be held in the early morning hours, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. These hours apply to schools that normally operate in the morning, evening, or afternoon shifts. The purpose of these timings is to avoid the hottest part of the day and keep students safe from extreme heat.
Importantly, private schools are not allowed to charge any extra or hidden fees for these summer camps. Similarly, government schools and teachers are strictly forbidden from collecting tuition fees from students who attend. The camps are meant to be free and accessible for all.
All summer camp activities must be held indoors, inside the school classrooms. This rule is in place to protect students from the summer heat and keep them comfortable.
Schools have also been told to make sure basic facilities are available. This includes clean and cool drinking water, cleanliness of the building, proper seating arrangements, working fans, and a backup electricity supply in case of power cuts. Additionally, every school must have a fully stocked first aid box to deal with any minor injuries or health issues.
Students do not have to wear their school uniforms during the summer camp. Instead, they should wear loose, light-colored clothes that are comfortable in the heat. Schools must also ensure that students wear caps or hats to protect them from the sun when needed.
