Punjab Boards Announce Matric Exam Schedule 2026 — Exams Begin March 3

The Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) across Punjab have officially finalized and announced the complete schedule for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part-I and Part-II First Annual Examinations 2026. According to the notification, the examinations will officially begin on March 3, 2026, and will be conducted simultaneously across all Punjab boards, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Sargodha, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

This announcement marks the beginning of the annual academic examination cycle for thousands of matric students across the province. Students of both public and private schools are expected to start preparing for their final exams under the supervision of their respective boards. The decision to announce the schedule several months in advance aims to provide schools, teachers, and students ample time for preparation and administrative arrangements.

According to the official notification issued by the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons (PBCC), all Punjab boards have also released a detailed timeline for the online submission of admission forms. This process includes filling out the online form, attaching scanned documents, and submitting printed copies along with fee challans paid through online bank deposits. The authorities have strictly instructed that no manual admission forms or manually deposited fee challans will be accepted this year. This step is part of the province’s effort to fully digitize the examination system and minimize human errors in form submission.

The new system aims to make the admission process faster, more transparent, and convenient. Through online submissions, students can easily apply from their schools or homes without having to visit the board offices. The online portal also allows applicants to track their form status and ensure that all required details have been successfully uploaded.

Furthermore, school heads and administrators—both from government and private institutions—have been directed to regularly check the official websites of their respective boards for updated instructions, deadlines, and fee schedules. The boards have emphasized that failure to submit forms within the given time frame may result in late fees or disqualification from appearing in the annual examination.

Education officials have highlighted that these steps are part of a broader initiative to streamline the examination system in Punjab. By eliminating manual paperwork and encouraging digital submissions, the boards aim to reduce the chances of record misplacement, duplication, or processing delays.

An official from the PBCC added that the decision aligns with the Punjab government’s vision of promoting digital governance in the education sector. The new online system will not only simplify the examination process but also create a centralized database for better management of student records.

The authorities have also assured that the online system has been tested for reliability and is equipped with technical support to assist students and schools throughout the submission process. Help desks and helplines have been set up at each board office to address queries and provide guidance regarding online admissions.

In summary, the Punjab BISEs are taking significant steps toward modernizing the examination and admission process. The early announcement of the SSC 2026 schedule, combined with the move toward a fully online application system, reflects the boards’ commitment to efficiency, transparency, and student convenience. With exams beginning on March 3, 2026, students now have a clear timeline to organize their studies and prepare confidently for one of the most important academic milestones of their educational journey.
