The Punjab School Education Department has announced new school timings for all government schools in the province. The revised schedule will remain in effect until October 15, 2025.
The decision comes as schools are set to reopen in most districts from tomorrow. The department said the change in schedule has been made to ensure a smooth routine for both students and teachers, especially as the weather remains hot in many parts of Punjab.
New Timings for Schools
According to the official notification, the new timings will apply to single-shift schools, double-shift schools, and afternoon schools. Separate hours have also been fixed for teachers, so they can focus on lesson planning, training, and co-curricular activities after classes.

The department has also given a small relaxation for girls’ schools. A 15-minute flexibility will be allowed in opening and closing times, keeping in mind the convenience and safety of female students.
Instructions to District Authorities
The Punjab School Education Department has directed all District Education Authorities (DEAs) to strictly enforce the revised timings. Officials warned that any negligence or failure to follow the orders will be dealt with under the law.
The department also emphasized that these timings are temporary and may be reviewed again after October 15, depending on the weather and other conditions.
