PMDC Launches Digital Licensing Platform for Punjab

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has launched a new digital licensing system to make it easier for medical and dental colleges in Punjab to get registered. This online platform is designed to simplify the registration process and reduce the need for unnecessary travel and paperwork.

Before this system was introduced, many medical professionals had to go all the way to Islamabad to complete their registration. Now, with this new system in place, all registration-related services can be accessed from the PMDC office in Lahore. This is a big relief for doctors and dentists living and working in Punjab, as they can now complete the process closer to home.

Dr. Rizwan Taj, the President of PMDC, called this step a major achievement for the healthcare sector. He explained that the new online portal will provide complete support to all applicants. One of the most helpful features of the system is that applicants will receive their original certificates through courier service, which adds to the convenience and saves time.

Dr. Taj also mentioned that this digital registration system will not be limited to Punjab. PMDC plans to expand it to the whole country in different phases. In the second phase, the system will be introduced in Peshawar and Karachi. The third phase will cover Jamshoro and the Balochistan region. Finally, the fourth phase will include the city of Multan. This step-by-step rollout will help ensure a smooth transition to digital services for all medical professionals across Pakistan.

By moving to a digital platform, PMDC is aiming to modernize the way medical and dental professionals register and manage their licenses. It will not only make the process faster and easier but also help in reducing corruption and improving transparency. This is a positive move toward building a more efficient healthcare system in Pakistan.
