In an important step to strengthen Pakistan’s role in the field of advanced technology and engineering, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has announced a remarkable educational opportunity for Pakistani graduates. This initiative allows students to apply for Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) and Ph.D. programs at the highly respected McMaster University in Canada.
Study in Top Tech Fields
This academic program focuses on some of the world’s most sought-after fields in modern engineering and technology. Selected students will get a chance to specialize in areas such as:
- Mechatronics – the combination of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering used in robotics and smart machines.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) – developing intelligent computer systems that can solve problems, learn from data, and make decisions.
- Electric and Autonomous Vehicles – creating cleaner, smarter vehicles that run on electricity and can drive themselves.
- Energy Storage and Hybrid Powertrain Systems – working on advanced batteries and systems that improve fuel efficiency and reduce pollution.
These exciting research positions will be based in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at McMaster University. Students will be working under the supervision of Dr. Ryan Ahmed at the McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC). MARC is a world-class research center known for its innovative work in smart mobility and advanced vehicle technologies.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for this program, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science
Pakistani students who meet these requirements are encouraged to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) through the official application link shared by the Ministry of IT & Telecom.
