ISLAMABAD: The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), which operates under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD), has announced a new opportunity for qualified female nurses to work in Malaysia. According to official sources, only those nurses who meet the specific educational and professional criteria will be selected for this overseas employment program.
An official told APP on Saturday that the selection process will be based strictly on the job requirements set by the Malaysian healthcare system. The positions are available in several specialized areas, including Coronary Care Units (CCU), Medical/Surgical Wards, Intensive Care Units (ICU), Pediatric ICUs, Neonatal ICUs, and Cardiac Units. Candidates must demonstrate experience and skill in these areas to qualify for selection.
To be eligible, applicants must hold a diploma in General Nursing and must also have completed a Post-Basic specialized course. In addition, they are required to have a minimum of five years of hands-on experience working in a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Only female nurses under the age of 45 will be considered for this opportunity.
Applicants are advised to bring all necessary documents on the day of the interview. This includes an updated resume with recent color photographs, educational certificates, proof of relevant work experience, and any additional credentials related to nursing specialization.
Furthermore, all applicants must submit a deposit slip or bank challan of Rs. 500, which is generated during the online application process. This fee is mandatory and will be required during document verification at the time of the interview.
In a separate development, the federal government has approved a new initiative to support working women in Islamabad. Following directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a dedicated hostel facility will be constructed to provide safe and affordable accommodation for women who are employed in the city.
According to a report by ARY News, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board has formally approved the project. The hostel will be established in Sector I-9/4, where an existing Special Education Center will be repurposed and renovated for this purpose.
This decision comes after requests from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Rights, both of which highlighted the challenges faced by working women—especially those who have relocated from rural areas or smaller towns—to find secure and budget-friendly housing in the federal capital.
The hostel project is expected to ease these difficulties by offering a reliable residential option for women professionals, helping them focus on their careers without worrying about their living conditions. The government aims to ensure that female workers are supported not only in their workplaces but also in their daily lives through such inclusive welfare measures.
