The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced that Pakistan will host Sri Lanka for a three-match One Day International (ODI) series in November. The matches will take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from November 11 to November 15, 2025.
This series will serve as a lead-up to Pakistan’s first-ever T20 International (T20I) tri-nation tournament, which is scheduled from November 17 to 29. The tri-series will feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan, promising fans an exciting line-up of matches with some of the top cricketing nations in the region.
Sri Lanka’s Return to Pakistan
The upcoming ODI series is special because it marks Sri Lanka’s first bilateral tour of Pakistan since 2019. During that tour, Pakistan, led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, defeated the visitors 2-0 in a three-match ODI series. The first game in Karachi had been abandoned due to heavy rain, but Pakistan bounced back strongly to win the remaining matches.
Sri Lanka also visited Pakistan more recently in 2023, but that was not for a bilateral series. Instead, they were part of the ACC Asia Cup, where they played Afghanistan in Lahore. Their return for a bilateral ODI series in 2025 shows the growing trust and strengthening cricket ties between the two nations.
Pakistan’s Busy Cricket Calendar
Before Sri Lanka arrives, Pakistan will already be in action with a high-profile series against South Africa. As part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27, Pakistan will host South Africa for two Test matches and then continue with six white-ball matches (three T20Is and three ODIs).
- The Test series will begin on October 12 in Lahore and conclude on October 24 in Rawalpindi.
- Following the red-ball matches, the two sides will play three T20Is between October 28 and November 1.
- Finally, Pakistan and South Africa will meet in a three-match ODI series from November 4 to 8, with all games scheduled at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
This packed calendar shows that Pakistan is once again becoming a hub for international cricket, hosting top teams back-to-back on home soil.
