ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has released the schedule for special Eid trains to accommodate the increased number of travelers during the festive season, ARY News reported.
As per the official notification, a total of five special trains will be operational on different routes across the country, ensuring convenient travel options for passengers. These trains aim to provide ease and comfort to those traveling long distances to celebrate Eidul Fitr with their families.
Special Eid Train Schedule
- First Eid Special Train: Karachi to Lahore, departing on March 26
- Second Eid Special Train: Quetta to Peshawar, departing on March 26 at 10:00 AM
- Third Eid Special Train: Karachi to Rawalpindi, departing on March 27 at 8:00 AM
- Fourth Eid Special Train: Karachi to Lahore, departing on March 27 at 8:30 AM
- Fifth Eid Special Train: Karachi to Lahore, departing on March 29
These special trains will offer various classes, including Economy Class, AC Business, and AC Standard, catering to the diverse needs of passengers. Pakistan Railways has taken this initiative to ensure a smoother and more accessible travel experience for those journeying home for the occasion.
Meanwhile, the federal government has officially declared public holidays for Eidul Fitr 2025. According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the Eid holidays will be observed from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2.
Eidul Fitr 2025 is expected to be celebrated on Monday, March 31, 2025, following the completion of 29 days of Ramadan. The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has predicted that the Shawwal crescent is likely to be visible on the evening of Sunday, March 30, provided the weather remains clear.
The announcement of special Eid trains, combined with official holidays, aims to make travel and celebrations more convenient for people across Pakistan. Authorities have advised travelers to book their tickets in advance to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
