Pakistan Embassy Shares Important Update on Online UAE Jobs

Many Pakistanis dream of working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for better job opportunities. However, the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi has issued an important warning for those planning to move. Recently, there has been a sharp rise in fake job offers shared online, which are targeting people from foreign countries—especially Pakistan. These scams are tricking people and causing serious problems, including legal trouble and financial loss.

The embassy has strongly advised Pakistani citizens to be very careful when applying for jobs online, especially if the job ads are not from inside the UAE. These fake offers often look real, but many people have fallen into traps where they lose money or get into legal issues.

“Pakistani nationals are strongly advised to be extremely careful when responding to online job advertisements, especially those originating outside the UAE,” the embassy said in its statement.

This advisory is part of a larger campaign to protect overseas Pakistanis from scams and to make sure they follow all legal steps when going abroad. Many people lose money, passports, and even their freedom because of fake job offers. So, it’s better to take extra time and verify every detail before making a move.

Always Verify the Job Offer

To avoid becoming a victim, it’s important to verify every job offer before accepting it. The embassy suggests that people should always double-check the details through official channels.

You can confirm job offers from UAE companies by using the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) website. If you have a serial number or transaction number from the job offer, you can enter it on the site to see if it’s real.

Where to Check and Get Help

If you receive a job offer, don’t rush. First, verify everything using these trusted sources:

  • UAE Government Official Website: www.u.ae
  • Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi
  • Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai

For visa checks, here’s what you should do:

  • If your visa was issued in Dubai, visit the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) website.
  • If your visa is from any other emirate, use the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICP) portal.

These platforms help make sure your visa is genuine and not part of a scam.

Don’t Work on a Visit or Tourist Visa

The embassy also warned that working in the UAE while on a tourist or visit visa is illegal. If someone is caught doing this, they could be arrested and charged with crimes like fraud or even money laundering. It’s important to follow the law to avoid trouble.

Important Steps After Getting a Job

Once you are legally hired by a UAE company, make sure to take the following steps to protect yourself:

  • Register for the UAE’s Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) Insurance Program – This helps if you suddenly lose your job.
  • Get life and medical insurance – You should have health and life coverage both in Pakistan and the UAE to stay safe and secure.
