The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the Pakistan cricket team will land in Dubai today to kick off their pre-tournament training camp. This camp has been arranged to prepare the players for two major upcoming events — the Tri-Nation Series and the Asia Cup 2025.
The squad will travel in four separate groups, and once they are all settled, the players will begin their first official training session at the ICC Academy on August 21. According to PCB, the training camp will continue until August 27, giving the team a week to practice, train, and get match-ready. These sessions are considered crucial as the players will work on improving their fitness, team coordination, and strategies before the competitions begin.
The Tri-Nation Series is scheduled from August 29 to September 7 and will be played at the historic Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The series will feature three teams — Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan will begin their campaign against Afghanistan in the opening match at 7:00 PM local time. Each team will play against the others twice in the round-robin format, and the two sides with the most points will qualify for the final, which will be held on September 7.
Just two days later, the much-awaited Asia Cup 2025 will start on September 9 with a curtain-raiser between Afghanistan and Hong Kong. This year’s tournament will see eight teams battling for the prestigious title. These teams have been divided into two groups. Group A includes Pakistan, India, UAE, and Oman, while Group B features Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.
Fans are particularly excited as the Asia Cup always brings thrilling cricket, especially the much-hyped Pakistan vs India clash. Pakistan’s schedule in the group stage begins with a match against Oman on September 12, followed by the high-voltage encounter against arch-rivals India on September 14. Their last group match will be against hosts UAE on September 17. Winning these games will be crucial for Pakistan to secure a place in the knockout stage.
The Pakistan squad for the Tri-Nation Series and the Asia Cup 2025 includes a strong mix of experienced players and young talent. The squad is as follows:
Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Salman Ali Agha (Captain), Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (Wicketkeeper), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem.
