The Center for Pakistan Studies at Shenzhen University was officially opened today. The inauguration ceremony was led by the Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Mr. Khalil Hashmi. He was joined by Professor Mao Junfa, the President of Shenzhen University, along with university scholars, faculty members, and students. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter in the academic relationship between Pakistan and China.
This newly established center aims to create a strong platform for academic cooperation between the two countries. It will help both nations understand each other better through research, open discussions, and exchange programs. The center will especially focus on studies in new and advanced technologies, which are important for the future development of both countries.
During his speech at the event, Ambassador Hashmi thanked the leadership of Shenzhen University for their valuable support in making this idea a reality. He said that the bond between Pakistan and China is becoming stronger every day, and this is true not just in politics or trade, but also in the areas of education and research.
He pointed out that Shenzhen is known all over the world as a city of innovation and progress. That is why, he said, it is the perfect place to launch a center that looks towards the future. He stressed that academic institutions like this center play an important role in building strong connections between the people of both nations.
Ambassador Hashmi also shared that he had visited Shenzhen University one year ago. He was pleased to see that the idea discussed during that visit had now turned into a real and working center. He called this a successful result of continued cooperation.
The Center for Pakistan Studies will focus on promoting studies about Pakistan, encouraging joint research projects, and building connections between students and businesses. Shenzhen University has a modern and international learning environment, which makes it a great home for the new center. The university’s openness to global partnerships will help the center grow and succeed.
Before the official opening ceremony, Ambassador Hashmi met with the President of Shenzhen University. They talked about how the center can be used to support shared goals in education, research, and business. After the meeting, the Ambassador was given a guided tour of the Shenzhen University History Museum, where he learned about the university’s journey and achievements over the years.
